Saab convertibles had a great run, bringing a lift in sales for the struggling Swedish auto company. The Saab 900 convertible was launched in 1986 with a limited run and sold out so quickly that Saab knew they were on to something. In 1994, after a merger with GM, they produced the Saab 900 SE convertible, which is famously known as "the goose" because of the way the emblem read on the back of the cabriolet.

Saab also created a sports version cabriolet model: the 9-3 convertible. Saab offered a 9-3 S convertible with a turbocharged engine, a 9-3 SE with even more horsepower and their most powerful 9-3 was the 9-3 Viggen convertible that was named after the Saab 37 Viggen aircraft.
